Day 3: GPT-6 with Intelligent UI rolls out to all ChatGPT users

Tibo announces a new version of GPT-6 "going beyond text", released to all users in ChatGPT, and calls it the big one of Day 3. He quotes OpenAI: GPT-6 and Intelligent UI are now rolling out in ChatGPT for everyone, with fast, interactive answers that make everyday questions more visual and put interactive tools for the task on the spot.

This is a ChatGPT release for all users. Tibo does not say what changes in Codex itself; judge whether it changes your own work in ChatGPT or Codex. Rantr has not independently verified the rollout to every account.

Reset

Day 3: Tibo loads a banked reset in every paid account

In his Day 3 post Tibo says it is a celebration day, with a new high of 40M active users across Codex and ChatGPT Work, and that a banked reset is being loaded in everyone's paid accounts.

A banked reset is added to your account to use later; it is not described as applied automatically. Check your usage panel for the new reset and when it expires. On 8 October at 03:44 UTC Tibo confirmed it had landed across all accounts. The 40M figure is Tibo's own; Rantr has not independently verified it or checked individual accounts.

In a reply to the banked-reset announcement, Tibo said “Will be there by EOD PST.” This was an arrival estimate, not an additional reset. His later confirmation that it landed across all accounts is already cited above. Source ↗

Day 3 (encore): Tibo says Codex cloud was silently re-shipped, now with Tailscale access to private resources

Tibo posts "Day 3 (encore)/ We silently re-shipped codex cloud. It's pretty good now", quoting Tailscale's announcement that Codex Cloud can now securely connect to resources on your tailnet with Tailscale.

Read the whole note

He labels it as part of Day 3, so it is recorded on Day 3, although the post went out on 8 October UTC (06:38). It is an improvement to Codex cloud, not a usage reset, and Tibo gives no list of what changed beyond the Tailscale connection.

Check it in Codex cloud and, if you use Tailscale, in Tailscale's announcement on X (@Tailscale, 7 October). Rantr has not independently verified the re-ship or what it changes.

Recorded after the day closed (8 Oct 2026, 06:39 UTC), so no votes fall inside the day.

Fewer than 10 votes by the close of the day; the tally is in the open data, not shown here.

Method

How this record is made

Each day runs from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC. The record counts votes, release check answers, experiences, “Same here” and replies timestamped inside the day. When the day closes the record is frozen; it is recomputed only after an entry in the public corrections log, or when the day’s update is recorded late. Rantr is a neutral record: it does not take a side.
