Problem
The cheapest token is the one you don't resend. Context reuse across subagents is the underrated part here. How do you invalidate it when one subagent edits a file the others already have cached?

Reusing context across subagents saves tokens. But a clean slate is half the point of a subagent. If they inherit the parent's notes, one wrong guess spreads to all of them. Is it just cached files, or shared reasoning too?

cache hits being the lever is so underrated. most of my usage limit pain was really re-sending the same context to every subagent. curious if the cache survives a long idle gap or if a coffee break still resets it
