Improvement
Day 14: Tibo announces editing previous messages within a thread in the Codex desktop app
Tibo announces as Day 14 a small quality-of-life improvement: "You can now edit previous messages within a thread in the desktop app." He calls it long requested and says it "took way too long to get that one out."
Read the whole note
This is an editing feature in the desktop app, not a usage reset, a limit change or a benchmark. The post does not say which plans get it, whether it needs an app update, or how editing an earlier message affects the rest of the thread or the usage it consumes.
Check it by opening an existing thread in the Codex desktop app and editing an earlier message. Rantr has not independently verified availability or behaviour.
Recorded late on 19 Oct: Tibo posted it at 01:18 UTC on 19 Oct (x.com ↗). He labels it Day 14, so it is recorded on Day 14.
Follow-up from Tibo on 19 Oct (x.com ↗): asked in the thread whether editing an earlier message registers like a steer, he answered "Registers as time travel", read as the thread going back to the edited message rather than steering the work in progress. Scope: it answers whether an edit acts as a steer; it does not say what happens to the later messages, the actions already taken after the edited message, or the usage they consumed. Rantr has not independently verified.
